Taking the Arts Centre and CIAM6 to the Town

In partnership with cultural and community organisations in the town CIAM’s offered a series of community workshops.

As well as the workshops in schools a half term family model making workshop was held at the Arts Centre. Where parents said: ‘Really enjoyed today. seeing creativity around me and young ones stretching their imagination is wonderful and exciting – they have great ideas. Great atmosphere, lovely friendly team Thank you!’ Four half day Minecraft workshops were held in collaboration with Somerset Film – ‘It was very good, fun, one of the best things I’ve done for ages.’ These used Minecraft to explore alternative futures in digital spaces.

The remaining community workshops were planned as encounters alongside existing established events, reaching audiences that might not otherwise have considered attending the Arts Centre event. Workshops included Lego Building at Wilstock Hub Community Park with Wilstock Hub, Knightstone Housing and Gincandescence and Junk Modelling at the Victoria Park Summer Fair with Knightstone Housing and Scrapstore Bristol.
